I. ABOUT THE FACULTY HANDBOOK
1.1 DISTRIBUTION AND RETURN
1.1.1 The Academic Dean will administer the distribution and return of the Handbook.
1.1.2 The Office of the Academic Dean will distribute revisions to this Handbook to faculty for insertion into the Handbook. The faculty is responsible for accurate Handbook maintenance.
1.2 AMENDMENT RECOMMENDED BY FACULTY
- Faculty may initiate amendment(s) to the Faculty Handbook by submitting a proposal to the Faculty Review Committee.
- The Faculty Review Committee meets with the Academic Dean to review the proposed revision or amendment.
- The Faculty Review Committee may revise the proposal or recommend that the Faculty Assembly reject the proposal.
- The Faculty Review Committee makes its recommendation to the Assembly, which will announce the proposal, and set the meeting date where the proposal will be thoroughly debated.
- A two-thirds vote of those present and voting at the Faculty Assembly meeting is needed for approval of any proposed amendments.
- All amendments approved by the Faculty Assembly will be brought by the Academic Dean to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board.
- The Academic Affairs Committee of the Board will then discuss the proposed amendment and determine whether to send it to the full Board of Trustees for its consideration.
1.3 AMENDMENT BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
- The Board of Trustees may revise this Handbook.
- The Board of Trustees has final authority to revise, supersede, modify or eliminate the Faculty Handbook.
